I probably spent far more time researching underwater scooters than I should have.
For nearly two weeks, I kept comparing the Waydoo Subnado, LEFEET P1 Lite, and the Sublue Mix. I watched reviews, read customer comments, and changed my mind more than once before finally placing the order.
Looking back, I'm really glad I chose the Mix.
The removable battery was one of the biggest reasons. It's much easier to charge, and I like knowing I can always bring a spare battery if we're planning a full day at the beach.
I almost skipped the buoyancy floater, but I'm glad I didn't. It's one of those accessories that doesn't seem important until you actually use it. Being able to let go for a moment without worrying about the scooter sinking made the whole experience much more relaxing, especially when my kids wanted a turn.
Like most people, I was concerned about battery life before buying. Turns out I didn't need to be. We normally get around 35-45 minutes with everyone taking turns, changing speed modes, and stopping to snorkel along the way. That's been more than enough for the way our family uses it.
Power has also exceeded my expectations. I'm around 180 pounds, and it pulls me comfortably through the water for snorkeling and casual exploring. It isn't designed to replace a professional dive scooter, but that's never what I wanted in the first place.
Another thing that helped me feel confident was the feedback about Sublue's customer support. Before buying, I noticed quite a few people mentioning that the company actually responds when customers need help. Thankfully, I haven't needed to contact them myself, but it's reassuring to know they're there if I ever do.
I'm sure the other brands have their strengths too, but for the way my family travels and snorkels, the Mix turned out to be exactly the right choice.
It's now one of the first things that goes into our suitcase whenever we're heading somewhere with clear water.
